We’re currently in the thick of campaign season, so it’s hard to imagine that Election Day is only 50 days away. That’s right, it is almost time to make our voices heard in who we want leading our community. There are plenty of issues voters will have in mind this November, including inflation, individual liberties, and crime. However, in local positions, where elections can be decided by just a few votes, the biggest concern of voters will be: Who will best represent ALL the people of Boone County? And who will give me a seat at the table?
There is one candidate in the race for Boone County District II Commissioner who has been bringing constituent concerns to county government for the last 12 years: Janet Thompson. Janet has spent her career addressing the problems facing her constituents, including lowering crime through justice system reforms and directing federal funds to local communities to address the significant housing and workforce development issues in Boone County. Janet’s life of service for the people of Boone County is proof that she will listen to all perspectives and create pragmatic solutions that ensure a bright future for Boone County.
