Hyper-partisan divisions have made our national and state politics personal, with character attacks, baseless accusations, and demeaning rhetoric becoming the norm. Local politics should be able to escape this trend, replaced by honest, good-faith debates on policy. Unfortunately, that standard has not been met in the race this year for Boone County District II Commissioner.
It is not within me to respond in kind, as doing so would only escalate the rhetoric. I have left my opponent’s words and actions, without narrative or commentary, to speak for themselves here on my website, in the belief that if voters understand who we are and what we stand for, they will make an informed choice on November 5th.
The power to choose those who lead Boone County forward in its most basic functions of government is yours. I trust you to make the right decision.
