As part of the Boone County Commission, Janet Thompson has championed a major housing summit on October 24th. A home for every family, regardless of price point, is the next step in the growth of Boone County. Home prices in Boone County, like the state of Missouri and the rest of the nation, have been rapidly increasing, which has priced many people out of finding their first or new home. The upcoming housing summit, co-sponsored by the city and county governments, seeks to collaborate with the community and find solutions to Boone County’s serious housing issues.
Collaboration between city and county government, as well as other community organizations that seek to address the housing shortages in Boone County, is the best way to solve this crisis, and it is how Janet Thompson approaches her position as County Commissioner. Involving everyone’s voices and perspectives is how decisions get made in Boone County, thanks to Janet and the other current County Commissioners. The goal of all local governments is to make their community a place where people want to live and thrive, and Janet Thompson is joining our local government representatives to realize that mission.
The Summit will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 24 at Memorial Baptist Church, 1634 Paris Road. To register for the full day summit, visit tinyurl.com/4xezhpww. No registration is required for the evening recap session.
